Sri Guru Har Rai Ji was the seventh Guru of Sikhism. The GurGaddi Gurpurab of Guru Har Rai Ji is an important occasion in Sikh history. Guru Har Rai Ji received the GurGaddi (spiritual leadership) from Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji in the year 1644. At that time, he was only fourteen years old, but he was known for his compassionate nature and spiritual wisdom from a very young age. Guru Har Rai Ji spread the message of peace, compassion, and selfless service. He encouraged Sikhs to follow the path of Gurmat, remember the name of Waheguru, and serve humanity. During his time, the Sikh community continued to grow and many preachers were appointed to spread the teachings of Sikhism. Guru Har Rai Ji had a deep love for nature. In Kiratpur Sahib, he established beautiful gardens and a medicinal herb garden where natural medicines were prepared. Historical accounts mention that these medicines were even used to treat Dara Shikoh, the son of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Guru Har Rai Ji’s life teaches us the values of kindness, humility, and service to humanity. On the occasion of his GurGaddi Gurpurab, special programs such as Kirtan, Katha, and Langar are organized in Gurdwaras. Devotees remember the teachings of Guru Har Rai Ji and renew their commitment to follow the path of truth and compassion.
