At Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, the great Gursikh and scribe Bhai Mani Singh Ji was entrusted with the completion of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and through this, the Tenth Master, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, blessed the land of Malwa. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the only religious scripture that belongs to all of humanity and has been bestowed with the eternal status of ‘Guru.’ From the Word-Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the whole of humanity receives guidance towards universal brotherhood and the well-being of all. Hence, it is revered as the common Guru of all humankind. Alongside the teachings of the great Gurus, the sacred hymns of revered Bhaktas and Bhatts inspire mankind towards Naam Simran, altruism, and Divine love, while also encouraging the renunciation of social evils, hypocrisy, and pretentiousness, guiding one to become a mature and responsible member of society. The compilation of the Sri Adi Granth was accomplished by the Fifth Guru, the crown of martyrs, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, who collected the hymns of the Gurus, as well as those of revered Bhaktas and Bhatts, and compiled the sacred scripture. Later, with the inclusion of the hymns of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, the Tenth Master, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, completed the structure of the Word-Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. At Abichal Nagar, Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji bowed before Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, enthroned It as the Eternal Guru, and forever linked the Sikh nation to the Word-Guru. The daily practice of respectfully opening (Parkash) the scripture in the morning and resting It (Sukhasan) in the evening symbolizes that for Sikhs, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the Supreme Authority. Before every auspicious deed, Sikhs perform Ardas at the feet of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, seeking divine command, and in every difficult moment, they turn to the Guru’s feet for courage and strength. On the sacred day of the completion of the Eternal Light of the Ten Gurus, the Word-Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, heartfelt congratulations to the entire Guru-roop Sangat residing across the globe.
