Blessed Baba Buddha Ji – A Glimpse Beyond the Famous Thread-Breaking Sakhi

Blessed Baba Buddha Ji – Baba Buddha Ji holds a highly revered position in Sikh tradition. He is the only personality who not only had the divine sight (darshan) of eight Sikh Gurus — Guru Nanak Dev, Guru Angad Dev, Guru Amar Das, Guru Ram Das, Guru Arjan Dev, Guru Hargobind, Guru Har Rai, and Guru Tegh Bahadur — but also had the honor of ceremonially anointing five of them with his own hands during the Guru Gaddi ceremonies. Baba Buddha Ji was born on Tuesday, October 6, 1506 CE, in the village of Kathunangal, District Amritsar, to Bhai Sukha and Mata Gaura. His childhood name was "Bura," and he spent his early years in Kathunangal. Later, he moved to the village of Ramdas with his parents at the age of 12. When Guru Nanak Dev Ji was traveling and reached his village, Bura was tending cattle. With deep devotion, he offered milk to Guru Ji and spoke with great wisdom. Pleased, Guru Nanak Dev Ji said, “Though you are young in age, your wisdom is like that of an old man.” From that day forward, he became known as "Baba Buddha." By adopting the Sikh way of life, he became a role model for Sikhs and was held in great esteem in the Guru's household. He lived until the time of Guru Hargobind Sahib. So friends…!! Let’s honor this great Sikh by liking, sharing, and commenting on this post, and spread this valuable knowledge with your friends and family. 🙏
