Gurdwara Suhela Ghoda Sahib is a historical site associated with the Sixth Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. A Sikh named Karori Mall, who lived in Kabul, was a devoted follower of the Guru. In the year 1635 (Bikrami Samvat), this Sikh presented horses as an offering to the Guru. Their names were Dilbaag and Gulbaag. Later, the Guru renamed them as Jaan Bhai and Suhela Ghoda. When Guru Sahib bestowed the blessing of sons upon Mata Sulakhni Ji, He was mounted on Suhela Ghoda. Guru Sahib also fought the battle of Kartarpur while riding this same horse. During the battle, Suhela Ghoda was injured. After winning the battle, Guru Sahib was travelling towards Kiratpur Sahib, and on the way, the horse passed away. During the cremation, about a sawa mann (approx. 20 kilograms) of raw coin-metal was found inside the horse’s body. Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji performed the cremation of Suhela Ghoda with His own hands after offering Ardaas along with His Sikhs. Since then, this place became renowned as Suhela Ghoda Sahib.
