In Sikh history, the “22 Hill Kings” were the rulers who governed the region of the Shivalik Hills. All of these kings became concerned about the growing influence of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Guru was spreading the message of faith, justice, and equality, which was drawing the common people toward him. These 22 kings came together and planned to oppose Guru Ji. On several occasions, they even allied with the Mughal authorities to remove Guru Ji from Anandpur Sahib. The kings felt that Guru Ji’s rising power was diminishing their political authority. Guru Gobind Singh Ji always followed the path of righteousness and truth. When the 22 Hill Kings attacked Guru Ji, his Sikhs stood firmly and bravely to defend their faith. Guru Ji never supported oppression and always stood for justice. This account teaches us that those who walk on the path of truth and righteousness often face strong opposition, but in the end, moral victory belongs to truth. The steadfastness and courage of Guru Gobind Singh Ji have left an everlasting mark on Sikh history.
