A disturbing incident of theft has been reported at a Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Two masked thieves targeted the Gurdwara, using an angle grinder to cut through the entrance lock and later cutting open the donation box to steal cash. The incident took place around 10:30 PM on Monday, December 29, at ‘Sri Guru Ravidass Sabha Australia’ located on Malcolm Place in Campbellfield. According to CCTV footage, two individuals entered the premises. One of them used an angle grinder to break the lock and gain entry. Once inside, he cut open a large donation box and stole approximately $1,500 in cash. After committing the theft, both suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. The Hume Crime Investigation Unit is investigating the case with seriousness. Police have released CCTV images of one of the suspects, who is seen wearing a black hoodie with white lettering, tracksuit pants, white shoes, a black cap, gloves, and an orange face mask. Police have urged the public that anyone who recognizes the suspect or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage should contact Crime Stoppers immediately at 1800 333 000.
