Heartfelt congratulations to the entire Sangat on the birth anniversary of Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji was the eldest son of the Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the grandson of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, and the great-grandson of the Sixth Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. He was born on 12 February 1687 at Sri Paonta Sahib. From a young age, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji was agile, intelligent, and extraordinarily brave. He possessed deep reverence for Gurbani since childhood. Upon entering youth, he mastered horsemanship, wrestling, swordsmanship, firearms, and archery. At a very young age, he became highly skilled in the use of weapons. At the age of twelve, on 23 May 1699, he led a jatha of 100 Singhs to Noorpur village near Sri Anandpur Sahib and punished the Ranghars who had looted the Sikh Sangat. On 29 August 1700, when the hill rulers attacked Fort Taragarh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji fought them with exceptional bravery. In early October 1700, during the attack on Fort Nirmohgarh, he fought at the forefront and defeated many attackers. On 15 March 1700, he led a Sikh jatha to Bajrur village, where those who repeatedly looted pilgrims traveling to Anandpur Sahib were severely punished. Similarly, on 7 March 1703, he went to Bassi Kalan to confront the tyrant ruler Zabar Khan, who was committing grave atrocities against Hindu women. A poor Brahmin’s wife was rescued and safely returned to her husband. Later, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji reached the site where Gurdwara Shaheedan Ladewal (near Mahilpur) stands today. Some injured Singhs attained martyrdom during the night, and Sahibzada Ji himself performed their cremation the next morning. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji spent most of his life at Sri Anandpur Sahib alongside his father, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. During the siege of Anandpur Sahib in May 1705, he remained present with Guru Ji. On the night of 21 December 1705, when Guru Sahib left Anandpur Sahib, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji was part of the caravan. In the historic Battle of Chamkaur on 22 December 1705, he displayed unmatched valor, fighting valiantly against overwhelming Mughal forces and ultimately attained martyrdom. The martyrdom of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji stands as a timeless example of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
